Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the Popular Mattress El Paso mattress store FAQ, where you’ll find answers on mattress types, warranties, our comfort exchange policy, delivery, and financing. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Contact any of our three El Paso showrooms and our sleep experts will be happy to help.

Memory foam mattresses contour closely to your body for pressure relief and motion isolation. Hybrid mattresses combine a coil support system with foam or latex comfort layers for a balance of support and cushioning. Innerspring mattresses use a traditional coil system for a bouncier feel with strong edge support. Our sleep experts at any of our three El Paso showrooms can help you test each type.
We carry Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, Simmons, Stearns & Foster, and other top manufacturers, along with our own exclusive Popular Mattress line, designed and built by us since 1939.
Popular Mattress is our own exclusive mattress line — designed and built by us the same way since 1939, when manufacturing mattresses is actually how our company got its start. It’s available only at our El Paso showrooms; ask your sales associate in-store for full details on this line.
Mattresses from Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, Simmons, and Stearns & Foster, are covered by each manufacturer’s own warranty — see their official warranty pages for full coverage details. Our exclusive Popular Mattress line carries its own warranty directly through us; ask your sales associate in-store for current terms.
Using an old or mismatched foundation, missing bed frame center support on Queen, King, or California King sizes, or a stained, soiled, or smoke-damaged mattress can void your warranty.
Some softening and light body impressions are a normal part of your mattress conforming to you over time. The industry standard is that an impression exceeding 1.5 inches during your warranty period is covered — though some brands, including Tempur-Pedic and select hybrid models, use a lower 0.75-inch threshold. Check your manufacturer’s warranty card for the exact measurement that applies to your mattress.
We offer a comfort exchange. Please allow at least 30 days from delivery for your body to adjust to your new mattress before requesting an exchange. Exchanges are valid within 90 days of your original delivery date, must be of equal or greater value, and are subject to a $79 delivery fee ($300 manufacturer exchange fee for Tempur-Pedic mattresses). Special orders, special sizes, and adjustable bases are not eligible for exchange or return, and removing the manufacturer’s tags voids the exchange.
Clearance items, floor models, mattress protectors, adjustable bases, and special-order items are considered final sale and are not eligible for exchange or return.
Delivery starts at $79 and increases depending on how far you are from El Paso. We periodically run delivery promotions, including free delivery — ask your sales associate about current offers and the exact rate for your address.
Our 5-Star Delivery service covers all of El Paso and Southwest Texas, plus all of New Mexico, including Las Cruces, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Alamogordo, Ruidoso, Roswell, Carlsbad, Pecos, Lordsburg, Midland, Odessa, and Marfa. Outside of this area, we can dropship most items with white glove delivery. Contact your nearest showroom to confirm delivery to your specific address.
Old mattress removal may be available at the time of delivery. Ask your sales associate at the time of purchase to arrange this for your delivery.
Our delivery team brings your new mattress and/or foundation into your home and sets it up in the room of your choice. Ask your sales associate about delivery options available for your order.
We can deliver as soon as same day on all in-stock items. Delivery times for special-order items depend on product availability and your location — your sales associate can give you an estimated delivery date at checkout.

We have three showrooms serving the El Paso, TX area, proudly family-owned and locally operated.
We’ve been in business longer than all of our competitors combined. As a locally owned, family-run mattress store, we offer personalized service and expert guidance without the pressure of a big-box showroom, and we’ve always stood behind every product we sell. We’re proud to be El Paso through and through — since 1939, our exclusive Popular Mattress line has been designed and built right here, by El Pasoans, for El Pasoans.
Yes — it’s built into our promise to you. As our slogan says, “A better mattress at a better price! We guarantee it!” Ask your sales associate in-store about our current pricing and how we stack up against the competition.
No, removing the tag does not void your warranty. However, the manufacturer may ask for proof of purchase if the tag has been removed, since it carries information about when the mattress was produced.
Side sleepers generally do best on a softer to medium-plush mattress, that cushions the shoulders and hips while keeping the spine aligned. A mattress that’s too firm can create pressure points at those spots. Visit one of our showrooms and let a sales associate help you find the right feel for your sleep style.
Back sleepers typically do best on a medium-firm mattress that supports the natural curve of the lower back while still allowing the hips and shoulders to settle in slightly. Too soft, and the hips can sink out of alignment; too firm, and the lower back loses support. Ask your sales associate in-store for a personalized recommendation.
Stomach sleepers generally need a firmer mattress to prevent the hips from sinking too deeply, which can arch the lower back and cause strain. A firm mattress helps keep the body on an even, supportive plane. Since stomach sleeping puts extra pressure on the spine, our sales associates can help you find a firm option that keeps you comfortable and supported.
